I
tried to find my blog body so I could write about their stories but going through
the profiles of my class mates y found Amalia’s blog very interesting. Her story
about how she grow up in a place where two very significant cultures and languages
where fighting against each other to get pick by her and be the major language
and culture in her life. But seem that both of them won the fight because even
though Amalia speak and write more in English than Spanish, her culture and
believes are about her Spanish background. I’m glad she didn’t forget where she
comes from. She even has a dog that represents her as a true Mexican (which is such
a cute dog by the way ).

Her history makes me wonder what could had happened
if I were in that same situation. Like her, I come from a Spanish country where
beautiful people and amazing cultures are in it, that is why I’m glad she never
forgot her true self. While reading her blog I was asking myself question about
what decisions could I had made if I were in her shoes, would had I pick my
Colombians culture, speak and write either languages or just one of them.? I probably
will never answer them but what I could say is that having a background and
speaking the language of your parents is a beautiful thing that everybody who
moved to a new country or place should keep in mind.
